The Salt Lake City metropolitan area has over 2.8 million people. That means its got a lot of culture and museums. Come and check them out! There's a really nice new natural history museum, a fossil museum, an aerospace museum, a train museum, a Browning gun museum, and a nice fine arts museum. Plus, why not check out a Mormon Tabernacle choir practice while you're here for a unique experience.
If you're a nerd like us, you'll enjoy this 5-day trip to see some amazing fossils—some are in museums scattered around the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, over 1,500 are in Dinosaur National Monument, and you'll even get to dig for both trilobite and fish fossils as well!
If you fly into Salt Lake City, it's easy to hit 5 National Parks in just a few days—Zion, Bryce, Capital Reef, Arches, and our favorite Canyonlands. You'll also pass through several National Monuments as well and get to see Goblin Valley State Park, which will look very familiar if you've seen the Star Trek parody movie Galaxy Quest.
